You have been able to register to vote at any time of year at Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) offices. A 2026 change to the Constitution hands this to the Registrar-General, so check with ZEC or your nearest Civil Registry office before you go. You need ID and proof of where you live, or an affidavit.

What you'll usually need
Tick things off as you gather them. Your ticks are saved on this phone only.
Steps
- Check you qualify: you must be a Zimbabwean citizen aged 18 or over.
- Before you go, find out where voter registration is being done now. Phone ZEC on Call +263 242 756 252, or ask at your nearest ZEC or Civil Registry (Registrar-General) office.
- Fill in the form. Officers check your documents and take your fingerprints and photo.
- Keep your registration slip.
- Before an election, inspect the voters' roll to check that your details are right.
Good to know
- In the past, ZEC has offered a registration check on *265#. It may not work on every network, so ask ZEC whether it still works.
- ZEC's website may not load from outside Zimbabwe. If it doesn't, phone ZEC instead.
- A 2026 change to the Constitution (Act No. 6 of 2026) moves voter registration and the voters' roll from ZEC to the Registrar-General. Ask ZEC or your nearest Civil Registry office for the latest arrangements.
Watch out
Check your registration only through official channels: ZEC or the Registrar-General's Civil Registry offices. Unofficial checking services have appeared before past elections.
