What you'll usually need
Tick things off as you gather them. Your ticks are saved on this phone only.
Steps
- Apply in person at ZIMCHE, 310 Herbert Chitepo Avenue, Harare. Show your originals, but don't leave them behind.
- If you can't go in person, first phone ZIMCHE on Call +263 8677 009649 or Call +263 242 571165. Ask the Finance section how to pay. Then email scanned certified copies and your proof of payment to Email qualificationsassessment@zimche.ac.zw. Phone again to check they arrived.
- Pay the assessment fee: US$20 for a qualification obtained in Zimbabwe, US$175 for one obtained outside Zimbabwe, or US$200 if you are not a Zimbabwean citizen. The fee is not refundable.
- Allow at least four weeks for the result.
Good to know
- To check whether a university is registered, see ZIMCHE's list of higher education institutions. It lists universities only. For a polytechnic, teachers' college, vocational or other private college, ask the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education whether it is registered. For a college teaching O or A Level, ask the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education's district office.
- ZIMSEC (not ZIMCHE) confirms O-Level and A-Level results from ZIMSEC exams. For Cambridge or other foreign exam boards, ask the board that issued the results.
Watch out
ZIMCHE publishes warnings about unaccredited universities. Before you pay fees, check that a university is on ZIMCHE's list, or that a college is registered with the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education. In 2024 the government closed 368 colleges and training centres that were operating without registration.
