Harare: pay water bills and report problems
The City of Harare is in charge of water, sewers and rates in Harare. Pay only into the accounts listed on its website, and report bursts and leaks to its 24-hour emergency line.

Steps
- Pay your bill using the bank accounts and EcoCash codes on the council's bills and payments page.
- To get your bill by email, send your account number, phone number, email address and ID number to Email clientinfo@hararecity.co.zw.
- Report burst pipes, sewer problems and other emergencies on Call 0242 774 141, day or night. You can also use the council's online enquiry form.
- For help with prepaid water tokens, call Call 0242 705 654.
Good to know
- Harare has been putting in prepaid water meters during 2025 and 2026.
Watch out
Pay only into the accounts and payment codes listed on the council's own website. Ignore payment details sent to you by message or posted on social media.
