What you'll usually need
Tick things off as you gather them. Your ticks are saved on this phone only.
Steps
- Buy the clearance fingerprint forms from a stationer.
- Have your fingerprints taken at your local police station.
- Pay the fee at the police station or at CID Headquarters, and attach the original receipt to the forms.
- Hand in the forms at CID Headquarters, corner of 10th Street and Josiah Chinamano Avenue (Morris Depot), Harare. You can go yourself or send someone you trust.
Good to know
- Since February 2026 there are two certificates. The yellow local certificate (Form 143) is for use inside Zimbabwe. The international certificate (Form 143A) is for use abroad. Ask for the one you need.
- Applying from abroad? Have your fingerprints taken where you live. Some Zimbabwe embassies do this. Then send the forms to CID Headquarters. Confirm the fee and payment details with CID first, because the published bank details don't all match.
