Steps

1. Check what kind of problem it is. A re-mark is for a grade you think is wrong. If a subject is missing or shows no result, ask your school head to send ZIMSEC a results query instead.
2. Move quickly. ZIMSEC only accepts re-mark requests within 42 days of the results being published. Count from the day ZIMSEC released them.
3. Go to your centre head. Ask the head of the school or centre where you wrote the exam to send in and support your request. If you were a private candidate, go to the centre where you sat the exam.
4. Pay the fee. It costs US$10 per subject for O Level and US$20 per subject for A Level. ZIMSEC doesn't start a re-mark until the fee is paid.
5. Pay only through official channels. Pay at ZIMSEC Head Office, a ZIMSEC regional office, or your exam centre. The payment must go to ZIMSEC together with your centre's supporting letter.
6. Follow up in writing. ZIMSEC deals with results enquiries in writing, not by phone. Ask your centre head to follow up, or email Email pr.infor@zimsec.co.zw.

Good to know

• ZIMSEC keeps exam scripts for only a short time after results come out. That is why the 42-day limit is strict.
• Your answer scripts belong to ZIMSEC. It doesn't return them to you or your school.
• Sort out any problem with your results before your certificate is issued. ZIMSEC says it doesn't change information on certificates once they are issued.
• These fees are from ZIMSEC's 2025 price list. Ask your centre whether the fees have changed.
